Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Paro | Transfer to Thimphu

Drive: Approximately 1.5 hours (55 km)

Arrive at Paro International Airport and begin your journey with a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital.

Depending on your arrival time, visit:

• Buddha Dordenma

• Memorial Chorten

• Tashichho Dzong

• Local market and handicraft shops

Overnight: Thimphu

Day 2 – Explore Thimphu

Discover the unique blend of tradition and modernity in Bhutan’s capital.

Visits include:

• Motithang Takin Preserve

• National Institute for Zorig Chusum

• Folk Heritage Museum

• National Textile Museum

• Simply Bhutan Living Museum

• Local cultural experiences

Overnight: Thimphu

Day 3 – Thimphu to Punakha

Drive: Approximately 2.5–3 hours (75 km)

Travel across the spectacular Dochula Pass with views of the Himalayan peaks.

Visit:

• Dochula Pass

• Chimi Lhakhang

• Punakha Dzong

• Pho Chhu Suspension Bridge

Enjoy the peaceful riverside landscape of Punakha.

Overnight: Punakha

Day 4 – Punakha to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley)

Drive: Approximately 3 hours (85 km)

Journey into the serene Phobjikha Valley, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful and culturally significant regions.

Explore:

• Gangtey Monastery

• Gangtey Nature Trail

• Black-necked Crane Information Centre (seasonal)

• Traditional villages

Overnight: Gangtey

Day 5 – Gangtey to Trongsa | Continue to Bumthang

Drive: Approximately 6–7 hours

Travel through the dramatic landscapes of central Bhutan.

En route, visit:

• Pele La Pass

• Chendebji Chorten

• Trongsa Dzong

• Ta Dzong Museum

Continue towards Bumthang, Bhutan’s spiritual heartland.

Overnight: Bumthang

Day 6 – Discover Bumthang

Explore the sacred valleys of Bumthang, home to some of Bhutan’s oldest temples and monasteries.

Visit:

• Jakar Dzong

• Kurjey Lhakhang

• Jambay Lhakhang

• Tamshing Monastery

• Burning Lake (Mebar Tsho)

Experience the peaceful atmosphere of Bhutan’s most sacred region.

Overnight: Bumthang

Day 7 – Bumthang Valley Exploration

Enjoy a deeper exploration of Bumthang’s natural beauty and local lifestyle.

Options include:

• Ura Valley excursion

• Tang Valley exploration

• Traditional village walks

Overnight: Bumthang

Day 8 – Bumthang to Paro (Flight / Drive Option)

Evening:

• Explore Paro town

• Leisure time for shopping and relaxation

Day 9 – Tiger’s Nest Monastery | Departure

Begin the final day with Bhutan’s most iconic experience.

Visit:

• Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery hike

• Kyichu Lhakhang

• Paro Valley viewpoints

Transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.
