Journey through the vibrant capital of Thimphu, the historic valley of Punakha, the serene glacial valley of Gangtey, and the cultural treasures of Paro. Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Paro | Transfer to Thimphu

Drive: Approximately 1.5 hours (55 km)

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to Thimphu.

Depending on your arrival time, visit:

• Buddha Dordenma

• Memorial Chorten

• Tashichho Dzong

• Craft Bazaar

Overnight: Thimphu

Day 2 – Discover Thimphu

Spend the day exploring Bhutan's vibrant capital.

Visits include:

• Motithang Takin Preserve

• National Institute for Zorig Chusum

• Folk Heritage Museum

• National Textile Museum

• Simply Bhutan Living Museum

• Local handicraft shops and cafés

Overnight: Thimphu

Day 3 – Thimphu to Punakha

Drive: Approximately 2.5–3 hours (75 km)

Travel over the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m) with spectacular Himalayan views.

En route and in Punakha, visit:

• Dochula Pass

• Chimi Lhakhang

• Punakha Dzong

• Pho Chhu Suspension Bridge

Overnight: Punakha

Day 4 – Punakha to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley)

Drive: Approximately 3 hours (85 km)

Journey into the peaceful glacial valley of Phobjikha, one of Bhutan's most picturesque landscapes and the winter home of the endangered Black-necked Cranes.

Visit:

• Gangtey Monastery

• Black-necked Crane Information Centre (seasonal)

• Gangtey Nature Trail

• Traditional villages

Overnight: Gangtey (Phobjikha)

Day 5 – Gangtey to Paro

Drive: Approximately 6–7 hours (185 km)

Enjoy one last morning in the tranquil valley before driving back to Paro through central Bhutan's beautiful mountain landscapes.

Relax and explore Paro town at your leisure.

Day 6 – Explore Paro | Tiger's Nest Monastery

Today's highlight is the unforgettable hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, Bhutan's most iconic landmark.

After the hike, visit:

• Rinpung Dzong

• Kyichu Lhakhang

• Traditional Paro Town

Celebrate your final evening with a traditional Bhutanese farewell dinner.

Overnight: Paro

Day 7 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.
